Foundations: Connection

What This Drill Helps Fix

This helps hitters who push their hands toward the ball, reach for low pitches, stand up on high pitches, or let the barrel separate from the back shoulder too early. It teaches the hitter to adjust posture, hip hinge, side bend, and elbow position to different pitch heights while keeping the hands and upper body connected.

Why Fixing This Is Important

When the hands push away from the body too early, the swing becomes long, weak, and difficult to adjust. Staying connected gives the hitter better barrel control, allows the body to match the pitch height, and improves the ability to make hard contact on pitches throughout the strike zone.
